Our Chapter
The Chapter was organized in 1985 in Chapin, SC by a group interested in learning more about their ancestors. Today, there are more than 150 chapter members. The chapter is a non-profit organization with these objectives:
Regular monthly meetings are held on the third Wednesday of the month with a speaker or other appropriate program followed by a business session and time to exchange family information. All interested persons are invited to attend any of these meetings.
A highlight is the annual reunion in April with programs featuring interesting speakers, time for sharing genealogical interests and lunch catered by Shealy's BBQ. All are invited to share this time with us.
The DIGEST is the quarterly newsletter of the Dutch Fork Chapter, South
Carolina Genealogical Society, Inc. It is published in February, May, August and November. Articles and queries are published free of charge as space permits. Membership in the Chapter also Includes membership in the State Society and entitles members to receive the State publication, THE CAROLINA HERALD and NEWSLETTER.
MEMBERSHIP: Individual $21.00; Family $26.00 for two members of the same address and only one copy of newsletter Is mailed to that address; Associate $15.00 for members, who are primary members of another SCGS Chapter, paying their individual membership fees. Membership is for the calendar year starting January 1st and is payable annually.

Dutch Fork Chapter, South Carolina Genealogical Society, Inc. does NOT have a staff to do research. A list of professional researchers (paid research) may be obtained from the South Carolina Department of Archives and History, Parklane Road, Columbia, SC 29223, or the South Caroliniana Library, University of South Carolina, Columbia, SC 29208. Most county libraries also maintain similar lists.
