NEW - COLOR MAP - The Dutch Fork of Lexington District, S. C. 2013 - By Dr. Carl W. Nichols.

The map is made at a scale of 1:48000 and measures 24 inches in width and 36 inches in length. The map has reference points, where he had room to write in churches, etc. The Lexington District Dutch Fork Plat map joins the Old Newberry District Dutch Fork Map on the west. All other boundaries are between the Broad and Saluda Rivers to where they join to make the Congaree River. The pink color is the Surveys made from 1749 to 1760. The green color is the Surveys made from 1760 to 1776. The yellow Surveys are mostly where land was confiscated AFTER the Revolutionary War.

The map is a montage made by combining 56 individual maps from the published atlas to make one map showing all of the Dutch Fork of Old Newberry District. Approximately 150,000 acres of land are covered in the map including all of the land from the Old Orangeburgh96 District line to the Enoree River on the North and to the Bush River on the west. The map is made at a scale of 1:48000 and measures 27 inches in width and 36 inches in length. The original surveys, beginning in 1749, are shown on the map that includes many early land marks such as churches. Surveys are identified by name of grantee with acreage and certification date of the plat. The map shows virtually all of the land granted in this area during the Colonial and early Statehood period. The map also shows modern roads making it ideal for studying locations and histories of sites such as family cemeteries. The pink color is the Surveys made from 1749 to 1760. The green color is the Surveys made from 1760 to 1776. The yellow Surveys were made after 1776.

Citizenship Petitions - Newberry District, South Carolina, 1808-1861, 1879, 1890 - These records contain information from 128 petitions filed in Newberry District Court between 1808 and 1890. Only two original Certificates of Naturalization (Samuel Law and John Williamson) were located in the files. The petitions contain name, date, Country of origin, character references, sometime age and length of time in Newberry District. Some listed other ports of entry or places of residence before moving to Newberry District. The book has 42 pages, with index and is soft bound in clear cover. $8.00 plus $2.00 s/h $10.00.

(SOLD OUT) Colony Evangelical Lutheran Church, Prosperity, SC � This church was organized in 1845 and the book was published in 1993 in the celebration of the 150th anniversary of the church. This history also contains a cemetery list, old deeds and plats of the church property. The book is soft bound with a spiral binder. It has 285 pages with an events index and a name index. 1868 Lexington County Voter Registration - It contains a list of the names of the white males (1,596) and black males (1,029) who were registered to vote. Lexington County had 15 Election Precincts and each precinct contained a separate list of the white and black males in alphabetical order. No other information was recorded concerning them. Some of the residents of Lexington County who were not recorded in the 1870 census appear here. It also included the area between the North and South Edisto Rivers that is now located in Aiken County. The book is spiral soft bound with 45 pages. $5.00 plus $2.00 s/h = $7.00

1870 Newberry County Census - All information on 4,641 households and 20, 720 individuals, 832 pages 3 books in one. Index has full name, age, sex and color. Mortality Census lists all persons who died during the year ending June 1,1870. Agricultural Census has a 52 item listing of land, crops and livestock. Farmer listed alphabetically with their household number and the township. Hardbound on acid free paper. Compiled and edited by Betty Mooney Bundrick.
